Pousada Zé Maria is an engineering feat created to be ecologically sound by the owner Zé Maria. Not one single tree was removed or destroyed during construction, rather 888 native trees were planted during the process, including fruit bearing and ornamental species.
From the flat-screen TV sets, the whirlpool bathtubs to the silent mini-bar, everything is powered by solar energy, which on an island where the sun shines all year long, is nothing but natural.
The infinite edge swimming pool was built on several levels, taking advantage of the natural slope of the land.
