The most traditional surf tournament in South America, the Pro Contest, takes place at Praia da Cacimba (Cacimba Beach) with its tubular waves cresting up to 15 feet on its best days.
An official date has not yet been set for the 2012 competition, but it will occur, almost for certain between January and February, depending upon the wave forecast.
